Paper II is qualifying, preparation is essential.
The current UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination pattern has a qualifying CSAT paper: 200 marks, two hours and a 33% qualifying requirement. Under the current paper format, this means 80 questions with 2.5 marks for a correct answer, a one-third penalty for a wrong answer and zero for an unanswered question.
The sample interface uses these marking weights. A short sample score is not a prediction of whether you will qualify in the full examination. Practise a mix of skills and review the method behind every answer.

Data interpretation questions retain their rows and columns. Passage questions display the complete passage beside the question. Explanations show the calculation or reasoning step by step, with both English and Hindi available.
Practise CSAT in English or Hindi with worked explanations. Full-length CSAT mocks have a two-hour server timer and are included in Complete Prelims. A free account can use the short timed sample; try starter practice for five minutes before signing up.
